Steven Hornbaker worked as an attorney representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation for 25 years prior to being appointed District Judge of the 8th Judicial District of Kansas on January 1, 2000. He was defense counsel representing insureds of major insurance companies, including State Farm and tried cases to juries all over the State and in Federal Court.
Mr. Hornbaker was given the distinction early in his career of being rated as an AV by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been a member and lectured for the KBA and the KTLA (former president) in civil litigation and insurance law many times. And has also given seminars on mediation techniques. He is admitted to practice in the Kansas Supreme Court, the 10 Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.
In 2001 he was appointed District Judge in the 8th JD. He worked in that position for 21 years and now has decided to take his expertise in litigation and practice to handle mediate cases in the Civil Area in State and Federal Court
Keith Henry praticed in the firm of Weary, Davis and Henry for 40 years. He was a general practioner specializing in Domestic and trial law. He has handled and tried many cases in State and Federal Court in Kansas.
Mr. Henry is a certified mediator with the Supreme Court of Kansas in civil and domestic cases and is a certified case manager. He is also specialized in Landlord-Tenent law and will mediate in that area also.
Mr. Henry is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association and is very active in the Bench-Bar in the 8sth Judicial District. He is a member of the 8th Judicial Nominating Committee.
